SS316L austenitic stainless steel is the workhorse of industrial filtration and process equipment: molybdenum alloying gives it superior pitting and crevice corrosion resistance in chloride environments, while the low-carbon grade avoids sensitization during welding. It maintains useful strength up to 400–600 °C and is compatible with steam sterilization, making it the default choice across pharmaceutical, food, and chemical duty.

TOPTITECHS sources SS316L to ASTM A240/A276 with mill certificates, and each fabricated component is dimensionally checked and surface-finished (electropolish or passivation on request) to prevent contamination and extend service life. For corrosive service, the same components can be upgraded to duplex or high-alloy grades.

In liquid filtration duty, this element removes particulates down to the rated micron level while maintaining high flow and low pressure drop, and its rigid sintered structure backwashes clean for repeated use — a critical advantage over disposable cartridges in continuous processes. Typical duties include polymer melt filtration, chemical and pharmaceutical clarification, and compressed gas filtration where the element must survive high temperature or aggressive media.

In gas service, the same element serves as a sparger, vent filter, flame arrestor, or fluidizing medium. The controlled pore network distributes gas evenly across the surface, producing fine bubbles for aeration, protecting downstream equipment from particulate carryover, and equalizing pressure in storage tanks without admitting contaminants.

How to select: choose pore rating by the smallest particle that must be removed; balance flow requirement against pressure drop using permeability data; confirm media compatibility with the process fluid and temperature; and specify end fittings (thread, flange, ferrule) and dimensions to match the housing.
