Pure Zinc Plate (Battery Anode Substrate)

Pure zinc plate for battery anode substrate and cathodic protection. 99.99% purity, flat and burr-free, custom cut sizes.

Products Specifications

Pure zinc plates serve as anode substrates in primary batteries, galvanic anodes for corrosion protection, and industrial zinc products. Supplied with high purity and flat, uniform surfaces, they are cut to size for battery manufacturing and cathodic protection systems.

1Product Overview

2Material & Manufacturing

Pure zinc combines good corrosion resistance in atmospheric and neutral aqueous environments with a favorable electrochemical potential, making it the standard anode material for cathodic protection and for zinc-air and primary battery systems. Its predictable dissolution rate and low cost position it as a workhorse electrode substrate.

TOPTITECHS supplies high-purity zinc plate with controlled thickness and surface finish, verified by composition analysis, for battery anode and sacrificial anode programs.

7Where This Product Fits

In electrochemical service, electrode performance depends on surface area, conductivity, and catalytic activity. This product is engineered to maximize active surface area while maintaining low electrical resistance and, where coated, a stable catalytic layer (Pt, Ru-Ir, or Ir-Ta) that lowers overpotential and resists passivation at high anodic potential.

Applications span PEM electrolyzers, fuel cells, chlor-alkali, and electroplating, where consistent electrode geometry and coating adhesion directly translate into cell efficiency and lifetime. Dimensional and coating specifications are verified per drawing.

How to select: specify the electrochemical duty (current density, electrolyte, potential window), required lifetime, and whether coating is needed above ~2 A/cm² anodic duty; then define substrate form (mesh, plate, felt) and dimensions. Coating type (Pt, Ir-Ta, Ru-Ir) is selected by process chemistry.

8FAQ

When is coating necessary?

For anodic service above roughly 2 A/cm² or at potentials above 1.8 V, bare titanium passivates and contact resistance rises. A Pt, Ir-Ta, or Ru-Ir coating prevents passivation and stabilizes performance for the design life.

What substrate forms are available?

Mesh, plate, felt, and expanded metal, in dimensions to drawing. Coating thickness is controlled and adhesion is verified by thermal cycling or bend testing.

What zinc purity do you supply?

Standard 99.9% with higher purity on request for battery applications.
