Titanium Anode Plate

Titanium anode plates for PEM electrolytic cells. Corrosion resistant, coated options, custom dimensions.

Products Specifications

GR1 titanium anode plates are precision-machined plates for PEM electrolytic cells, offering the corrosion resistance required at oxygen-evolving potentials. We supply flat plates or plates with machined flow channels, ready for coating or direct assembly into electrolyzer stacks.

1Product Overview

2Material & Manufacturing

Titanium combines an outstanding strength-to-weight ratio with excellent corrosion resistance in oxidizing, chloride-rich, and acidic environments. The passive oxide film that forms naturally on its surface self-repairs when scratched, which is why titanium components are specified in marine, chemical processing, and electrochemical applications where stainless steel fails prematurely. Grades commonly supplied include commercially pure GR1, GR2, and alloyed GR5 (Ti-6Al-4V), each balancing formability, strength, and weldability for different duty cycles.

At TOPTITECHS, every titanium product is manufactured from certified mill material with full traceability to the original ingot. Dimensional inspection, surface finish control, and mechanical testing follow ASTM standards relevant to the product form, so the delivered component matches the drawing and the datasheet. This material governance is the foundation of consistent performance in demanding service.

7Where This Product Fits

In electrochemical service, electrode performance depends on surface area, conductivity, and catalytic activity. This product is engineered to maximize active surface area while maintaining low electrical resistance and, where coated, a stable catalytic layer (Pt, Ru-Ir, or Ir-Ta) that lowers overpotential and resists passivation at high anodic potential.

Applications span PEM electrolyzers, fuel cells, chlor-alkali, and electroplating, where consistent electrode geometry and coating adhesion directly translate into cell efficiency and lifetime. Dimensional and coating specifications are verified per drawing.

How to select: specify the electrochemical duty (current density, electrolyte, potential window), required lifetime, and whether coating is needed above ~2 A/cm² anodic duty; then define substrate form (mesh, plate, felt) and dimensions. Coating type (Pt, Ir-Ta, Ru-Ir) is selected by process chemistry.

8FAQ

When is coating necessary?

For anodic service above roughly 2 A/cm² or at potentials above 1.8 V, bare titanium passivates and contact resistance rises. A Pt, Ir-Ta, or Ru-Ir coating prevents passivation and stabilizes performance for the design life.

What substrate forms are available?

Mesh, plate, felt, and expanded metal, in dimensions to drawing. Coating thickness is controlled and adhesion is verified by thermal cycling or bend testing.

Can you machine flow channels?

Yes — we CNC-machine flow fields on titanium plates for electrolyzer stacks.
